So how would you help fix the governement?

1. Stop any form of welfare. Only the strong survive people have been abusing this system since its existence.
2. Lower Taxes.
3. Taxes can be lowered by privitizing government activities so that they are much more efficient....so privitization
4. Get rid of NAFTA. (I like cheap prices, but if that means illegal mexicans and the end of the middle class then I don't mind paying a few extra bucks)
5. Legalize gambling! Other governments have done this and it hasn't "supported terrorism" The governement would make billions of dollars off of this.

Good ideas.
Exit Bush too, or there's no hope at all.

this is an old thread so not like the answer i make matters but here we go
Focus on America and get out of the rest of the world. Pull everything back home no foreign aid, no wasted wars, and no imports. Rebuild our infrastructure put in to place a direct democracy (drop the senate and set the congress to writing articles of legislature that WE PASS or DON'T) after about a hundred years re-open ports, and go back to the global crap with better ideas and a better moral standing.
assuming the general stupidity of the average American hasn't all ready screwed the pooch.

And though yes welfare isn't the best thing let me tell you what it does aside from get abused by the majority. It prevents rebellion, if you have never been starving or on the streets then lucky you. But think of all the desperate acts that are done. Now think about how many more will be done when they don't have that lil bit of a bribe not to. Think about the youth in the 80s. Bloods, Crypts, Gang wars with lesser local gangs, muggings, shootings, theft and all the like. Its not just a hand out it's a bribe not to do the crap that used to happen. When you do you lose the bribe for good. And we all know this **** still happens just not nearly as much.

i would wipe the slate clean and try to get real people into the office. people that have no ties to oil companies, large corporations etc. that is the only way the middle class will have a fighting chance from becoming extinct.

i am so tired of hearing about all these special interest groups. they are the ones that keep us from growing as a unified nation. everyone in politics has someone in their back pocket that has someone in their back pocket.

noone is truly looking out for the american people that actually work for a living and struggle to get by due to higher gas prices, taxes, illegal aliens etc. I wonder if other countries would just let us in? And why do we have no child left behind? that was created for all the foreigners let into our country whether it be legally or not. I guess it's ok to hold our children back for their sake.

we need to eliminate welfare. that is a system that is completely abused by lazyasses that feel they are owed just because they were born. they ruined it for those that really need it.

lower taxes would be great but then we wouldn't be able to fight george w. bush's war. i don't think that privatizing is the way go. then it takes away democracy.

i can't say much for the rest of your topics. but do know that we need to bring community back to this nation. there are signs of small improvement as of late but not enough and fast enough. maybe if we disected the party system. it doesn't seem to work anyway.

it seems that the more we hear the word democracy, less truthful the word becomes.

I agree with many answers you gave to your own question. However, none of those ideas will ever happen while the Republicrats are in power. Nobody seems to get that the Republicans and Democrats are really just the same. They play a game like they oppose each other but really they do exactly the same things. Expand the government, raise taxes, violate our rights, get the whole world ticked off and abuse their power. Right now they have everyone focused on Bush like he the bad guy. It's just a ploy and a joke, because while everyone is focused on him they are going extend their power and continue the endless abuses. They are all working together and have been for years. Vote for a third party and end the madness!

(1-3) can be accomplished by voting a straight republican ticket

(4) NAFTA should be reorganized as a tool for our government to have incentives to help other countries with there poverty rates. not to send America's companies packing up their jobs and moving them where they can get the cheapest labor.

(5) There is legalized gambling in the US, I think this should be left up to the individual states to decide and the government should not have any say about it. (pretty much how it is now)

(6) TERM LIMITS FOR CONGRESS!!!!

We could pay off a good portion of the national debt by selling federal forests to private owners too.
