Likely your WinXP firewall or the third party firewall you may have on your system is stopping the connection and thus because IE7 isn't authorized as a program yet to access the net through the firewall, it won't connect and advises you that you aren't connected (it of course assumes this).
Go into your firewall program and allow IE7 to access the net then you shouldn't have further problems with that part of things.
Last time I used IE7 it was still buggy, ensure you have the latest build and be aware that it may lock your system up at times especially if you are using Windows Defender (another not so great piece of software)...I use it only to test webpages for those people who are still using IE of any generation. Good luck with your use of it.

Is this a video game? Nintendo for Dogs....? haven't played it..Nintendo used to have a hotline you could call fro help with video games however, like if you were stuck on a certain level. The call center was in Seattle and the interestign thing was that it was a toll call outside the city but free to get tips in Seattle.. I dont remember the phone number but if you can get a copy of nintendo power magazine you can find it there.

Your firewall could be blocking it or your online service. Its happened with both to me. first bellsouth's modem had to be reset before and I had to log back in from scratch. Also sometimes my firewall, zonealarm blocks the internet and I have to shut it down and restart it.
Lastly go to IE and go to file on the menu and make sure that work offline is not checked.

cos its rubbish & tells lies. You only need to do a search on here to see how many people are having problems with IE7. The best thing to do is download Mozilla Firefox available from http://www.mozilla.com/ Its faster, more user friendly, easily customisable to suit your needs and no problems.

Because it's microsoft. However you may not have it set up correctly. If you have any dialup connections still set up from ages ago delete them. Can't help any more without actually looking at it.
