Smitty I watched many a NBA game as a young man and saw the many battles between these great centers. Nate Thurmond and Walt Bellamy were amazing as were the ones you named. I know what you mean about people on here not really knowing sports, particularly sports history. Yes Wilt and Bill had to work their butts off against some really good competition during their playing days. And I also believe they would have been great today because those guys could really play the game!

Because they are too dumb to realize that Wilt and Russel pioneered the center position for the NBA of today.
How many MVPs did they have combined? Obviously the people of thier day thought they were the two best and they still are up there as the best to ever play the game, any position.
