Actually, the feeling of hate is projection from the republican listener who feels hate and is ashamed of that feeling, so tries to pretend the democrat feels it.
I know it is distressing to have a conversation with people who have facts and not just slogans, ideas and not marching orders. Pretending they are haters when your party rose bashing gays and blacks and immigrants borders on the delusional.

Hate? It is Conservatives that are sooooooooo quick to label those that don't agree with their ideals (or their President) as immoral, anti-American, or otherwise. From Rush, to Fox, to Ollie North, etc, there is a CONSTANT push of the mean-spirted rhetoric against those that don't worship at the altar of fundamental christian conservatism. "Liberal" is the new "ni@@er", the way it leaps out of SOME conservatives' mouths with such distain and bitterness.
And consider this: Since 1980 (27 years and counting) the Reagan-esque form of Conservatism and the Republicans have been in power ('80-'88, Reagan---'88-'92, Bush--- '92-'00, Democractic President w/both houses of Congress under Conservative Republican control, and drug addict hypocrites like Rush Limbaugh were at an all-time high in popularity spewing the Conservative Dogma on televison and radio (Hell, he can almost single-handedly take credit for making liberal a bad word)----'00-'08 G.W.Bush and both houses of Congress, up until a couple of months ago).
So how much LONGER are we supposed to give the "poor, picked-on" Conservative/Republican point of view a try? Christian conservatives gave you guys your "moral center" a few years ago,(a gimmick that a lot of you guys are still holding on to) but Conservatives are now some of the most mean-sprited, no-apology elitists around. You speak of wanting government small and unobtrusive in your business ventures and money, but immediately contradict yourself and want government to regulate what people do in their private lives (abortions, gays in military/marriage, etc).
Political debate with a hard line conservative is almost non existent, its almost like a college football game, you are on one side or the other, with no middle ground. This has produced a level of animosity in politics that has, and will continue to, drive people further and further apart.

That flows both ways, as does mutual understanding. There are liberals, and conservatives that are able to put their humanness first and engage in dialog. There are also conservatives and liberals that are polarized, attached to their own frame of reference, and angry. Language is the common tool - it can be used brutally, subtly and/or elegantly. For example, the question as you asked it could be considered leading - because it lumps an entire group (liberals) under one assumption (expressing hate). Hope this helps to spark an open conversation, wherever you next find yourself asking the question.

A hate crime is the fee of against the regulation inspired by potential of bias against a particular risk-free team. Expressing an opinion differing from the president isn't against the regulation (yet - provide the Liberals time). neither is disagreeing immediately according to race hatred (neglect approximately what Peanut thinks).

why dont you watch PBS news hour (with Jim Lehrer) and Fox news (with anybody) for three hours each and see which one is more hated filled and biased...
I agree with you that the people out demonstating for Plaestine in the streets can be pretty intolerant...but thats not the core of Liberal Democrats...and I suspect you know that...just like conservatives that kill women's doctors in florida make up a only the fringe...

I DON'T hate people I "Disagree with".
I DO hate people who: take an oath to uphold the constitution and violate that oath, put us in an unnecessary war and give us 10 different explanations why we are there, turn a surplus into the worst deficit in history, condone the use of torture and alienate nearly every country in the world.

Never asume anything. I am very tolerant. I don't hate you-why should I? Sometimes I laugh at conservatives for their being gulable but that is about all. If there were only liberals it would be boring.

They have discovered that rude screaming will usually silence normal people and that is what they want. Their belief in the 1st amendment is only for their opinion. If you have the audacity to try to speak your mind about their failed ideas and policies, they will shout you down, throw food at you, burn your books, and threaten those that would give you a venue for your ideas.
They are quite tolerant of communists. They seem to love Castro and Chavez.
I saw in the paper where Cuban exiles are planning a big party for Castro's death. I wonder how many parties there were for Molly Ivins?

So much hate all around, this characteristic is no more tied to political affiliation than it is to shoe size.
The world is not black and white, there are not only 2 kinds of people.
