The answer to this question is two-fold. You either know someone already in the business, or you are recruited by one of the three agencies in the country that supply ever celebrity assistant. Two are in LA and one is in NY. If you don't live in either place, you are out of the running. These agencies almost never need to recruit in public, but if they do they place ads with agencies, keeping the company and job confidential. It's a job you fall into or that finds you, it's very hard to go out and get one. Sorry, I guess the answer is that basically they are secret jobs. As a PA for a celeb for 3 grueling years, I can tell you it isn't as fabulous as it may sound. It's a 24/7 job and you can't ever say no to a request. They also don't pay as well as you might think sometimes.

the main undemanding requirement is the means to take the abuse heaped upon you by way of egotistical idiots who see themselves using fact the middle of the Universe.. different than that, all you're able to understand is the thank you to study a calender, and be waiting to in a well mannered way tell a guy or woman who their panties are on backwards.....
