Martin's dream was as follows:

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."

Has it come true? Please explain you opinion with reasons.

Thanks in advance

In my opinion I think we are still working on his dream as it is still a living dream in progress. We do see and live some of his vision but there are still parts of it that haven't come to fruition yet.
There is still a great deal of ignorance and racism not on just one side but on both sides. You don't see as much done against one another but when you do see it on the news such as the Rodney King beating and the beating of the black man in New Orleans just last year.It brings home the fact that we have only made baby steps to helping Mr. King's living dream become a reality. We still have more to do to make it "REAL" to give it "Meaning" and to HONOR his dream..
I am glad though that when you read his speech it still stirs the soul and compassion from those of us who don't see life in terms of color or class status. It reminds us how far we have come when looking back at what suffering we have eased, yet it reminds you of what steps we still need to make as ONE people to heal and forgive the past.To pave a better path following in his footsteps and in his dream to make the whole of his dream into the reality it should be....

Condoleezza Rice grew to become into called a house slave. Black Republicans are called Uncle Toms, traitors to their race, and sellouts. i could have voted for Alan Keyes (black) over Obama if I lived in Illinois. it is not Obama's epidermis colour I voted against, it grew to become into his liberal political evaluations that scare me. occasion: The 'born alive' concern the place he voted that a botched abortion infant that comes out alive has no human rights. What could Dr King think of roughly that?

Yes. Of course you will get argued with,"O, rascism still exists.". Well we will never get rid of that but, African Americans are successful and are able to have all the oppertunities everywhere. Dr. King was a great man. He did not die in vain and I do belive his dream has came true. You can be black and sit where you want, some of our best actors in movies and tv are black. I belive it came true, and once again, he was a great man.
