Is it really infinite, and infinite what? Anybody who understands what I am asking please respond.

True infinity is beyond our comprehension. Anybody that says they understand the concept is not as smart as they think they are. It is not in our capacity to truly understand why something cannot end. Everything as we know it, has a beginning and an end. They say everything started out as the size of a pinhead, but what was around the pinhead?

I assume by space you mean outer space and not regular space, like free space on your hard drive or whatever.

Outer space is that space outside the atmosphere. Unofficially, that is anyplace more than 100 kilometers above sea level. Basically it means any place other than on Earth. In other words, the rest of the universe. It is perhaps an obsolete term incompatible with the "spaceship Earth" idea that is common now. The idea of Earth as just a really big space ship or space station was only invented in the last few decades, so space is just the space in which everything, including Earth, exists. The concept of "outer space" speaks of an earlier mind set where people spoke of the world like we now speak of the universe, with "outer space" as being outside the world/universe.

Not even einstein or Hawking could answer that question because it's beyond scientific realm or any other realm for that matter; The universe is so unimaginably vast that our intelligence might not give us an answer to its true nature now.

As far as i know, space is the fabric onto which events take place and it's expanding into nothing really because we cant say it is expanding in space since space itself is expanding in the first place.

If i were you, i wouldn't even worry about that; i mean even light, the suppposedly fastest thing to move takes ages to reach us from stars other than the sun and there are unlimited number of stars in this vastness,

honey, it's a headache to even start pondering about it! it's a bit like trying to know the highest number there is! maybe our limited minds aren't designed in such a way as to understand the unlimited after all.

Space has no weight or substance, but it is defined by how long it takes to traverse it. That's why its called the time/space continuum. space and time are defined by each other. Infinite space is really a way of saying there's always more than what we can see. Does that mean there is truly no end? We will never know.

Well....they would have used the word 'void' but that sounds ominous lol. Space, in this case 'outter' space, is a word used to describe an area between things, like theres space between the asteroids on the asteroid belt. So yes, space would be infinite because there will always be space between stars, galaxies and what not. There's even loads of space between the molecules in our bodies. But space is not empty, if thats what you are wondering. There's lots of 'stuff' in space.

This is one question that currently has no answer. it is a matter of opinion and just a bunch of theories. I think that the universe itself is not infinite but that it is expanding into the infinite.

As others have said, this question is currently unanswerable. Some say it goes on forever, some say it is contained within a magnetic field, and some say it is held in God's hands. This is all speculation and given current technologies the chance that humankind will ever know is bleak.

I understand what you're asking, though there is no confirmed answer. Some people believe there are mulitple universes, and ours is just one of those. but this question is so vast and talks about things we can't even wrap our brain around.

Nothing confines space, astro physicist are very simple. for instance, spot on the sun, are called sun spots, black holes, they re black, they're holes, black holes. Nothing confines space, therefore it is simply called "space"
