i am trying to set up my sons ps2 for online gaming , it keeps telling me a network cable is unplugged
i'm using a bt homehub , and have tried the ethernet cable to both my pc and his laptop
can anyone help me before i go totally insane???? !!!!

tried that Gabs - wont work
and footynutguy - ive used 2 different brand new cables - it still wont work :|
now im really stuck lol

It may be that your firewall protection is preventing your network from "seeing" the PS2. Turn off your firewall protection and give it a go.

There is another adaptor (called a Network Adaptor) that has to go between the ethernet cable and the PS2.
If you don't have one the only place to ge them now is e-bay (it should be somewhere around £30). This is because as the PS2 is no longer being made nor are it's accesories.

Swap the Ethernet cables between the PS2 and the PC. If the PC doesn't work then you know the cable is knackered

Stick the ethernet cable at the back of the PS2 and run it from your router. This is what I do and it works perfect for me.
