Not hardly. Bush has already negotiated with Iraq that his family and friends at Exxon will take over operations of the Iraq oil fields shortly.

If giving up oil fields would create a free and democratic Iraq, then I'm sure President Bush would be all for it. The point is - it won't.

The entire thing was a plan to control middle eastern oil. In the very near future (after we "win" war on terror) we will be fighting with China. They need oil to run their economy/military just like we do. If US is owning Iraq you can bet China will not be able to get it.
There is not and never has been any plan for a "free and democratic Iraq". We (America) are going to occupy Iraq until we lose a war with China.

Well I think we would be nuts not to think about protecting our own interests in needing oil, but I don't think Bush considers them "ours". It makes sense that if we can get a free and democratic Iraq, they would be open to selling us oil.....he doesn't plan to take them...he genuinely believes in freedom and democracy and wants that for their country.
It may however be a little naive on his part that he can make it happen....you only get democracy by fighting for it with your own blood...which we did in this country. We can't do it "for" them.....but I still think it is in our interests to win in Iraq and protect our own interests there. Americans aren't cowards and shouldn't just walk away and give up.

I think Iraq is supposed to repair their country and government with those oil fields... So protecting them seems like a pretty good idea to me.
What else are the going to profit off of? They can't grow anything. Everything they need they have to get from another country.

If Bush had his way he'd repeal all anti-trust laws and make a hell for the working man. Its never been about freedom, its about secureing his families pride and money for generations to come. He has done his father a great disrespect.

You call it protecting when oil fields still explode? 1 thing I know for sure: every explosion cost us more in gasoline bill!
