Or would they have feared starting another Iraq/Iran war?

I's say No. Their president has no authority as they live in a Theocracy. The people are against the Iranian Pres. Iraq under the monster Saddam would not allow Iran to do it. He'd invade in a heartbeat and Iranians new it.

Sure All they want is fuel rods for their reactors.

America would have nuclear power plants if it wasn't for the fossil fuel lobby.

Iran would go nuclear even without the war in Iraq and they would've tried again to take over Iraq. Why you may ask? For one reason, Saddam's Iraq, by the time of the Iraq war, was a mear shell of what it once was. Iran, now backed with a nuke, would've rolled right into Iraq and took it over. The UN would've done nothing about it because they are worthless. They would've tried negotiating with Iran until Iran destoryed Israel. Of course, this scenario might still happen if Iraq is a loss.

It makes sense to me. We disarmed Iraq, then kicked their ***. This is the problem I have too, it is what I would do if I was running Iran.

We actually disarmed a country and if we had kept Saddam SOB in office we would have done something great. We could go to N, Korea and fix that, or Iran and take care of that. But now all despotic countries know it is better to fight because the rulers are deposed.

If say some aliens invaded Canada with superior military technology to that of the USA, wouldn't the right wing HERE be beating the drum to match it somehow? Just put the shoe on the other foot and you sometimes have the answer. And EVERYBODY who isn't blind sees what nations in the nuclear club get away with and the leach that is put on nations in the potentially nuclear category.

Iran has been trying to go nuclear.

Don't you remember they are claiming it's for nuclear power so they don't have to depend on neighbors?
