Several times, yes. Most don't last very long, but I've seen a couple that took a few seconds to streak across the night sky.

I remember a song catch a falling star.
the second verse was and put it in your pocket. I never new what that meant. Like wise a song that said love soft as an easy chair /love soft has the morning air. Thank god for Amy Lee

No,because there are none.Stars are the suns of other planetary solar systems.I,on the other hand have seen many falling meteorites.
To see a meteorite shower is a truly amazing site to see also.

I have seen falling meteroites burning up upon entrance into our atmosphere, but no actual stars falling.

I grew up in the country and was lucky enough to see a lot of them. One night there was a meteor shower and my best friend and I brought our sleeping bags outside and watched it, it was truly amazing.
