I went out with this one guy some time ago an even tho now I have no feelings for him and have broken up, we're quite close and I feel like I can tell him anything-something I can't do with most other people. I'm not scared he'll judge me. Despite this, he won't ever ask about me or talk about my probs and I always listen to him. We had an argument today an I told him he was like everyone els for jus telling me their problems and relying on me to give them advice. I am the listener and advice giver out of my friends but I dnt often go to them for personal advice as Im scared bout what they might think, so it can get quite lonely as there is no one who I feel I can tell my probs to. I mean i love listening and helpin my friends, but wen this guy who I kno I can trust just dsnt care it hurts-an the fact that he once cared but now he doesnt. Im jus wonderin how I shld react towards him when I next see or speak to him-friendly? cold? I want to stay friends with him tho. Thanx for any help

If you want to stay friends with him then you shouldn't act cold. But remember you teach people how to treat you. So if you always let him dump his problems on you, then you can't get mad at him out of nowhere one day. He probably has no idea what is wrong at all and just thinks you are weird for getting mad at him like that. If you feel like he (or any of your other friends) are being too selfish, then tell them that you would apprectiate them listening to you when you have problems sometime. If they act like they don't care, or don't start being more "there for you" then stop being friends with those people. They might not be able to all of a sudden start to care about you, if you have taught them not to. But the one's that are truly your friends will. The others were never your friends to begin with and you jsut allowed them to use you. Know that and don't be upset if you lose them as "friends". But when you make new friends make sure you don't fall into this same pattern.

That's a tough one. I wouldn't act cold, I would simply let him know how you feel and why, and mention you like his friendship and being able to talk to him etc...I've always learned that you don't have to make a big deal out of everything to get a response; sometimes just talking something out opens the lines of communication and you both can benefit from it =) Keep me posted!
