Someone tells you that you're "killing yourself" or that "those things are bad for you"?

My favorite smart remark is when someone asks me to put out my cigarrette when I am in the smoking section of a restaurant. I always reply
"I'm sorry it bothers you, I will gladly put it out if you promise me you will drop the words 'first available' from your vocabulary"
This has been happening to me much more in the last year or two. I am probably the most considerate smoker on the planet. I don't smoke around anyone that I don't know and never around friends and family that it annoys. I also walk as far away from entryways as possible when smoking outside so no one has to walk through my smoke. It is extremely annoying to extend people courtesies such as these, and then have them make snide comments to me at a restaurant or bar when I go out of my way to sit in the smoking section.
If I can extend common courtesy then they should also. Don't come to that restaurant or sit in that section if it bothers you. If you do, shut your mouth and accept the surroundings you placed yourself in. Above all be polite, God knows I am.

The late great Bill Hicks had all the answers. Non smokers should shut the f*** up or suffer a facial burn, the choice is yours. Non smokers who do that little cough next to you, "Sh** I smoke forty a day and don't cough like that, you must have been concieved with a weak sperm". I quit smoking in May but I would just tell them don't you think that I know that when people made those kind of remarks to me

I just say we all our going to die from something
same as people who over eat ...but i don't tell them hey your going to eat yourself to death..!!!!...or people who talk on cell phones while
driving ...that seems more of a sooner death ..they don't pay attention to the road.. as long as i am not blowing it in your face i wish people would let it be . and i only smoke outside.

I don't smoke anymore but yeah I used to say stuff like "Oooh if I quit will I become immortal like you?" or "No one here gets out alive." and my personal favorite, "feck affffffff".

when i smoked i always said, Do you really think so? No s h i t sherlock or something like that, i hated those comments

Tell them "Don't worry. I'm signed up for an iron lung donation". Or say "at least my dirty ugliness is on my INSIDES"!!
