Dr. King had so many speeches which one in particular? The basis, foundation underlying theme that I've heard in most came out because he was first and far-most a preacher and preached the gospel. Secondly he was showing how as Christians how to "fight" the racism in his day and time. He based this philosophy upon Jesus's teaching of non-violent tactics. Which were supported also by Ghandi. Third he was telling people what plans were to "fight". Boycotting, sit-ins.

If you're referring to the I have a dream speech,he was trying to express his dreams of equality for blacks and whites. Please remember he was a key member of the civil rights movement. Hopefully you know what that is. Good luck!
