Bebop was created in the late 1940's and early 1950's. Not the 1990's

Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie are the 2 Be Bop greats.

I think the trumpeter you have in mind is John Birks (Dizzy)
Gillespie. But, Bebop was "created" decades earlier. The 40"s
and 50's. Along with Charlie(Bird) Parker, and Monk among others, Bebop had its Heyday and still has its devoted followers.
Other great trumpeters of the genre were Clifford Brown,Miles Davis and Howard McGee. The list goes on, but hopefully, this
is the answer you were looking for. BEBOP LIVES.

Bebop wasn't created in the early 1990's. More like the 1940's. And I always thought Charlie "Bird" Parker was credited with inventing that style. He played the saxophone, not the trumpet.
