Ok for cheerleading we made these shirts that say "We get it up" then on the back "We keep it up". We were referring to stunting and how we keep up stunts.

I mean I know its a little inappropriate but our principal totally flipped out and made us take them off. Is it really that bad?

Our schools fencing team had shirts that said "We touche you all over" and they didnt get in trouble

LOL...It's terrible, and you KNOW it.

I guess you just have to look it from their point of view. The schools have a large obligation to keep you safe and to keep parents happy. They could be swamped with phone calls and/or prosecuted if anything happened to one of the cheerleaders (because people would blame it on the shirts and the school). I'd have to say as a parent, I thought it was something bad first. Though I don't think it's any less appropriate than the other comment.

Lets face it, cheerleaders do get it up and keep it up :) I think its rather catchy and clever, kuddos, tell your principal he's stuck in 1950 and to please join us all here in the 2007 :) Oh ps.... I am an advertising/marketing specialist, I think its great, good use of word choice, slang, and humor. i think I went to school a lil longer and make much more than your principal, tell him that part too.

your shirts are more sexual then the other ones.

club shirts always get in trouble at my school like the swimmers arent allowed to wear their shirt because they say "get on your latex and dive in" but the croquette club is allowed to wear their shirts that say "tap that" and on the front of the saxaphone shirts they say "safe sax" and show a sax in a closed case and then on the back it says "unprotected sax" with an open care. and they are allowed to wear those but the year before that their shirts said "sax on the beach" and those were banned.

principals are stupid in the rules they make up

It's all in good fun but people always take these things in the worst way...
Maybe try to to change them a little
Just taking the 'it' out makes that sound better and less colorful

I think that's hilarious!

It may be the pronunciation of "touche" that made the difference. Although, I think your principal is walking a fine line.

The principal probably has his own personal problem of getting it up and keeping it up! Ha!

Yeah, "get it up" is a lot more graphic than touche you all over. Touching is barely even sexual.

Both are semi innappropriate. Uh, try asking him why he made a big deal about yours and not theirs!

Touch you all over isn't really THAT bad, but we get it up is sexual for sure
