Yes I do. It's funny you should ask. They just did an hour about Ft. Knox on the Discovery Channel a few weeks back. They did open up the safes, under heavy guard that is, and let the people go in a touch it, hold it and so forth. It was the real deal. Why would we give up that gold to anyone else or use it? We've had it for too long, don't you agree?

Yes, Virginia, there IS gold in Ft Knox; it doesnt matter because the US no longer uses the gold standard to cover its currency. There is a reason why there is all that gold in Ft Knox. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt passed the Federal Reserve Act, which caused us to come off the gold standard. All the gold, or most of it, anyway, in existence at that time in the US was collected/confiscated by the federal government, melted down into bars, and then stored in Ft Knox and other locations. This prevented the use of gold as a currency, forcing banks to distribute and accept only federal reserve notes (our current money).

Let's say you get a hundred gold bars. You still have to trade it in for the paper stuff. Can't go into a store and hand the cashier a gold bar and ask for change.

There's and awful lot of military around the gold vault for no gold to be there. I went down to visit a friend who lives with her husband on the base and if you even try to go down gold rd, st, whatever the hell it's called, they will most likely shoot you.
