you don't need to get on myspace a lot.

i don't pay taxes on my hard earned income to pay for computers for your school so you can check to see if your friend wants to play grabass after school on myspace.

what a dumb idea...and why would anyone at the school care waht your petition said? There's no law or rule stating that if you have a petition, they have to comply. they'll look at, take it from you, and after you walk away, they'll stand in their office and laugh at your dumbass.

There is absolutely no reason for any student to use myspace while at achool. You should be doing your schoolwork while you are in school. Here's an idea do your homework during your free time that way when you get home you can get on myspace without having homewrok to take up your time. Also let's not forget that many teens are attracting predators online and the easy access to myspace without proper supervision could be a danger to the students.

No. There's no legitimate use for Myspace from a school, and it would probably just prove to be a distraction. Also, considering the fact that Myspace has been used repeatedly to spread viruses and trojans and other malware, it poses a security threat as well.

The only exception I would make is if it's a private school. But using public tax money to pay for kids to socialize and avoid education is not acceptable.

They already block myspace at my school and its for our safety. I understand. The computers are supposed to be used for educational purposes. I enjoy myspace being blocked. I know when I pay taxes, they won't be going to students who go to myspace to invite some pervert to sex them up. They can do that on their own computers and their own time. I go to school to learn not to see naked women. You can go to pep shows if you want but I want to get ahead. Good luck with the petition because you will direly need it.

No, Myspace is not safe for any young person...as they proved in Middletown Ct. with Dateline on NBC. I guess you'll just have to deal with your fans and music when your at home....not in school. Our school district sent home a letter warning parents about Myspace .... did yours?

Hell no and I'm finishing gr12 myself. Nobody would get anything done in the computer labs or during spare completely destroying the already weak learning environment that barely exists. Myself I would'nt be able to stop myself being on at least one hour per day. Better just to perserve the status quo. If they don't like it they can dropout.

I thought you was supposed to go to school to learn and not chat on line?
Weird way of seeing the importance of Myspace and school.
Schools are out at 3:30 or 4pm you should have more then enough time to go to Myspace after homework.

Probably not what you want to hear but...NO!!! The computer that are at school are for educational use. We who are paying taxes and school grant money is the only way you have computers at your school. Use myspace at home...your fans should understand.

I think that there are up and downs to this scenario. Myspace - in my opinion is a great site when used properly. I wish that we could access it from school but because some people can't use it properly, the rest of us are forced to suffer.
If you petition, and it doesn't change anything, I would suggest that you continue to use proxys. Look them up online, ask people at school if they know about any. There are new ones up everyday.

i rlly think it would disrupt the learning environment cuz teachers wouldnt be able to take kids to the computer lab cuz tehy would always get on myspace...and if u didnt sign off properly, all ur info would be rite thur..and just sign on at home..myspace is lke the biggest threat to ppl..once u get one u r addicted and if u had it in skool, i think that would make everybody lose focus

I say create the petition. Talk to the teachers and principle at the school but ask these questions to yourself first; Will it take time from my schoolwork?-Will it disrupt anybody's schoolwork?-Does it benifit you(positively)at school? These are the arguments that are going to come up. Like I said before..go for it but have the answers to the reasons of why they say no. Also think of compromise. Good Luck!
