That's a great question! And I will happily share with you a "commonly accepted custom" in this society which I am completely AGAINST.

I feel very strongly that people should not be allowed to breed simply because they have genitalia.

Raising children who become responsible, well-adjusted, contributing, productive, balanced members of society is a very, very, very difficult JOB.

IT IS A JOB.

And sadly, very few are qualified.

The prisons are over-populated with people whose parents should NEVER have had children.

Yes, there is a commonly accepted custom in America. It is called a protest march. The majority of these fall outside the rule of law and what the Bill of Rights intended, but the Bill of Rights has been so bastardized by judges legislating from the bench that these protesters - some of which break the law, not all of them - but most of them have no respect for anyone of a differing opinion, much less respect for grieving families that just want to be left in peace. I feel if you have a strong opinion about something that there are better ways to express that than ditching work (if they do) and ruining someone elses day that doesn't even have anything to do with what you have a problem with. It is the height of rudeness and bad manners, but I can't tell them to get the hell away from my property or my work because if I do the lazy no good lobbyist will sue me. BaH Humbug!

P.s. I loathe Cindy Sheehan. She is a paid lobbyist! Sick! Benefitting from the loss of a child. Not to mention, I doubt any soldier would want to be made the poster boy she has made of him. If only we could get his opinion.

Yes Americanisation and Political Correctness - i'm by no length saying they're the same thing, but i hate them both equally. I'm from the U.K, by the way.

Political Correctness really annoys me. The Government (which over here is officially christian) is bending over backwards to destroy christian terms. I heard on the news that Birmingham city renamed Christmas 'winterval' - what the hell is that?
I'm all in favour of culturres living together, but how can you justify telling one culture not to name their religious festivals in a certain way because people consider it 'offensive'? If they take offense at 'Christmas' then i consider that religious discrimination- does anyone take offense at 'Ede?'
I could understand that in a non-theist country, but, well we're the centre of a whole church! - i'm an atheist myself, but i hate to see things like this happening- it's religious discrimination and they don't even notice.

Americanisation is as bad. Not too long ago, i went over a map with my little sister. I discovered that she thought we lived in America- and my other sister tried to say that we were a state in the U.S! no offense to any Americans, but i take that idea as immensely offensive. It's all down to television- a lot of the shows are American, so the kids grow up thinking that's where they are. Also, words from your culture slip in amoungst the younger kids- and there's the growing problems over here that are like mirror images of U.S ones (obesity, terrorism, etc) I'm all for an alliance between the two countries, but we need to retain seperate cultures- otherwise whats the point in going abroad?

I'm with the person who said it is commonly accepted that just because you have "sex parts" you get to breed. There are so many people who simply should not be having children (at least not at that point in their life) yet no one really seems to give a crap.

I think it is pretty morbid and disrespectful to take a corpse on tour. Why does the US take their dead presidents on a week long tour of the country for THOUSANDS of people to walk past the casket. Why can't these people just offer a moment of silence. Let the dead rest already.
