Are you talking about after-school types of programs and the like or getting an art school degree at 16 with a GED or high school diploma?

I'm gonna assume that you're asking the first question and that you're in high school (since technically you can go to any art college for a degree if you have your high school diploma or GED and a qualifying application and portfolio). Well, if there aren't any magnet schools around your area that specializes in the arts, your options are after-school type programs for high school students offered either by local colleges or art museums in your area. If you happen to live in or around Houston or Baltimore, I know for sure they have such programs. You can also do several pre-college programs offered by art schools around the country where you can get a few college credits in art while quasi-experiencing the "art college life" for part of a summer (usually those credits only transfer to the college you take them in). If you are interested in a particular art college (if you don't know yet, try to think of a few art majors you think you'll go into and then look up the art colleges that offer them), ask if they offer such programs. I've gone to one in San Francisco and worked as a counselor for two years later on in another art schooland it's a fantastic way to spend summer, learn something new, meet new people and perhaps figure out if this is something you want to go into. Also, if you do a pre-college program in the art college you want to apply to for college later, your chances of getting in are higher and they usually offer incentive scholarships to the best students that attend the programs.

If you have any more questions, add it into your original and I'll be happy to answer them for you.

Depends on where you are, in Miami we have magnet middle and highschools that offer art programs, and are completely art like Dash, New World.... ect. But if you dont live in Florida or Miami for that manner try lookin on the web for art highschool programs. if your 16 try looking around the highschools theres bound to be an art school somewhere. Or try waiting till colledge to go to an art colledge.
