What does it mean by someone you've never met before is in your "extended" network?

Basically all it means is that you are able to view those 80Million+ profiles by either you having them as a friend, or by looking at the friendslists of some of your friends and so on. Its just a number telling you how many profiles you can see thats all. Nothing big
