I'm proud to be an African American and my mom or dad didn't raise any dummies.
Thanks!

If I remember correctly, that's one of the reasons Colin Powell decided not to run. He wasn't afraid, but his family persuaded him that he would be nothing but a target for an ignorant racist.

The interesting thing about this question is the possibility of not just race, but gender, prompting a lone gunman. Imagine Hillary Clinton as President, Barack Obama as VP, and Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. Now ya know if someone is racist enough to kill Obama they don't feel much differently about a woman as President. But with this scenario there's a real problem. Kill Hillary, and Obama steps in...Kill Obama and Hillary has to pick someone new, which might possibly be Pelosi. Switch it around any way you like and there's a problem for the racist, whose IQ is lower than the average person's to begin with. Do you think a racist or misogynist is bright enough to figure out one bullet still leaves them with a President they are going to hate? Me either, all we hope for is the best I suppose.

Unfortunately, yes. I also think that it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to think that if a woman were president, that she would also be assassinated. Its pathetic that people aren't more open minded than that. The leaders we have now are terrible and we need someone with a different perspective. Its just unfortunate that in this country, a lot of people think that someone who's African American or a woman can't do the job of a white male.
There would be attempts anyway.

i have self assurance he will be assassinated because of the reality the U. S. has quite a number of racist and ignorant people available. The KKK for particular will be after him. i ought to nonetheless positioned my vote on him because i love quite a number of what he says and he's better effective than McCain. If Obama dies or receives assassinated he will nonetheless have an okay runner up. on the different hand if McCain has a heart attack, that could take position contained in the subsequent few weeks, he has a terrible runner up. yet as to an answer the prospect of Obama being assassinated is a tremendous adequate probability it ought to take position that they are going to decide on even better secret provider.

Only if he/she is a GOOD president or a BAD president...I don't think MEDIOCRE would rate that.
By GOOD, I mean EGUALITARIAN and having a similar racial mix of all appointed as his predicessors. Then the Blacks would HATE him thinking all the appointments should be black people like in city and state political machines.
If he only appointed blacks to anything important politically...that would cause blacks to say "its a black thing. There are no qualified Latinos, Caucasians, or Asians" That would not sit well with people of none colour...
Even if fair...he/she might sell pardons for rich people, drug merchants and gun runners, fire people not usually subject to politics and replace them with relatives, might sell military bases to the Chinese Communists, not destroy poppy production in Afganistan to de-fund terrorists, might promote abortion because his Democrat Party considers abortion as a sacrament, sacrifice of unborn babies for spare parts and stem cells instead of umbellical cord, turn low-polution coal reserves into a National Park, etc,etc

Some one called you stupid, but she should first sef-examine and get off her persecution horse. Yes I believe it would happen. Or a woman president. Of course if a Black person or woman were be vice president the president would be assassinated to make room. So there are endless theories.

Well, yeah. With pretty much every President, there is someone who tries or at least makes plans to assassinate him.

congratulations for getting so many answers within 50 minutes.
back to your question: stupidity and violance show no respect towards limits. they prevail inside human community. that's the reason why an assassination is possible regardless to skin colour.
but that is themeast reaosnable way. try to rethink this matter and to rephrase yr question

I'm fairly certain any American President has a high threat of danger, regardless of their race. I don't think you need to make any ridiculous claims about it being racially motivated.

Depends. If that person creates enemies and leads the contry down the wrong path, then maybe.

What does race have to do with it?
