When it comes to paying for things with you and your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend...Should the guy pay for everything like back in the day or should it be more split?

The guy pays until the relationship becomes serious. Then it's split.

im usually a pretty old fashioned girl. but i have to say that with this situation it all depends. if its a first date, i think the guy should pay for it. especially if he was the one to ask the girl out on the date. after that the girl should always offer to pay. and on some dates it would be ok if they split, or even id the girl pays for everything. on these last one it also may depend on who asked who on the date.

Well, I'm old fashioned and when I am seeing someone for awhile. I believe in taking turns. Example, He would pay for everything and the next time I pay for everything. I think it's being fair!

the guy pays for everything- it should never be split even if you're married. When your married the money is all in one and it doenst make a difference who pays or not because the moeny has been brough together.

I think it should probably be split, but I certainly love a man to take care of me. If he wants to pay all the time, I won't argue.

If your best friends i don't see why the guy should have to pay for every thing(i pay for my guy friends some times),but he shouldn't expect her to pay for it all either (they should spit it ).I also believe that husband and wife should split the cost ,but if you take a girl out you shouldn't expect expect the girl to pay that's common curtsy for a guy to pay.

split it up, in a marriage isn't that what couples do? BF/GF should too. I do, and I'm very old fashioned but feel great when I can pick up the check!

That all depends on the person/s involved. Some women are very independent while others are old fashioned. What type is your lady? Ask her if you're not sure, it's all intelligent, adult, healthy conversation.

if you are serious with this person, it should not matter. if you combine your money you would have less arguements about who paid what.
