My stepdaughter is having a baby and I am trying to find a name (other than Grandma, Grannie those type of names) for her little boy to call me. Its not that I mind being called those names but her Mom is insisting that she be the only Gran name...

Sorry.. forgot to add that her Mom wont tolerate Nana or Nannie.. anything that would indicate that I am of the same level of importance as her... Its a bizarre situation!!

Forget the other granny, dont let her have this type of power.
Tell her to call u grandmother, or granny, It is natural to call
grandmas this.
Tell the other grandma to get a life.

nicely you will possibly wait and see what the newborn starts calling you on her own. maximum young infants would be unable to assert "grandma" so as that they arise with some thing on their very own anyhow. My daughter began calling my mom "Mimi". i like it. My pals son began calling his grandma "Kiki" and that caught. Others i've got heard are: Nana Nona Grammy Gammy Ninny Oma Gigi There are a ton extra i'm particular.

many kids can't pronounce grandma so you should probably wait to see how the baby pronounces it .The baby will probably miss-pronounce it and say gwand or something like that, then what ever the baby says you should be called that .For example my mom just had a baby boy when he tried to say my name Asha (o-sha),but instead he said oya and now i go by oya.
