Off and on for 11 years. Your 39 now, and nervous to get or give a proposal? Sounds like you might just like things as they are. I was in a similar situation with my ex husband for 10 years, thinking that it might work, but if it doesnt work after 10 years, then it aint gonna. Either **** or get off the pot. You are the boss.

Its all about what you see in your future, if you cannot live without that person, or if you feel that if you had to wake up without them, would you be okay with that. Would you feel like part of you was missing????????? If not, don't marry him. Follow your heart but use your brain. I'm 39 too and marriage scares me to death after having 1 failed, not sure I will ever make that leap, I hope I'm wrong.

If you love this person and can see yourself getting old with him then say yes. If you're having any doubts AT ALL then you're not ready. This doesn't mean that he's not the one. It just means that he's not the one RIGHT NOW. You've waited this long to find the right guy, another year isn't going to kill you.

Make sure you BOTH are making the right decision. Either way, good luck and I hope you find what you seek. :)
