i think my favorite star wars is a new hope or the empire strikes back...the old ones were just a big part of my chidhood and a new hope is just a great movie...and star wars just wouldnt have been as good if george lucas didnt make them out of order like he did. =D

Wow, it's so difficult to decide but I think I have to go with Empire Strike Back...second is A New Hope. I like all of the action in ESB but NH is really good with introducing the characters and plots that continue throughout the original trilogy. The new trilogy is not so good...while it does give a good introduction to the original trilogy, it is lacking in the spirit that is Star Wars.

Return of the Jedi. I love seeing Luke finally sprout his Jedi wings and fight the Dark Side. Return of the Sith is a close second; I enjoyed Anikan's transformation into Darth Vader - scary but there was a good message in there about the seductive nature of evil.

THE WHOLE SAGA, of course...
but if i really had to make a choice, i'd say A New Hope, coz that's where the whole Star Wars saga began; and The Phantom Menace, coz it's the very beginning of the whole storyline... a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Return of the Jedi ... especially the Special Edition with the music and planet scenes at the end!
Revenge of the Sith is a **very** close second. Best drama, best FX, best action.

definitely Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back. lots of facinating and important milestones happened in this movie:
-the echo base is destroyed
-luke meets the spirit ben kenobi in person for the first time
-luke meets yoda for the first time and receives jedi training
-han and leia kiss for the first two times
-leia confesses her love for han
-han gets frozen in carbonite
-luke learns that darth vader is his father
-luke loses his hand
