When I first saw this question, I thought it was about model railroad sets, hehehe... I suspect now, that it is referring to, what we would call in America, railroad 'ties'. The actual wood that supports the steel rails. These are a common gardening/landscape item in the US, too.

As the first person suggested, eBay would be one place to sell them.

You might also check with local salvage companies... ones that specialize in removing old wood and hardware, for example, from homes/barns.

Another source to check would be a local sawmill, or lumber company.

Finally -- landscaping companies or retail nurseries.

Oh... don't forget your local newspaper, hehehe... you just might have a neighbor, or someone else nearby that would love to get all that lumber.

Good Luck :)

Well the "lumber" is not going to be any good because these ties are soaked with preservative -- maybe creosote.

The use for these in the United States is as landscape axillary applications such as very low retaining walls, boarders, decorative terracing when the ties are cut to different lengths and set upright. Also as VERY sturdy fence posts and steps and a very short drive way.

Therefore, perhaps landscapers in the UK would be interested.

i assume you means granite setts, or similar? try e-bay!

if you mean railway sleepers, that's a different thing! currently, old creosote-treated railway sleepers cannot be sold by traders to the general public in the U.K.,* only those treated with preservatives conforming to the latest E.U. regulations - so I am told.

that may not be the case for legitimate trade users, however, so long as the public are not exposed to them. how this can be done baffles me!

The public aren't supposed to be have contact with the chemicals in old-style wood preservers, apparently.

so be warned!

have a good day.

"... all of us might desire to die to be sin loose as according to Romans 6:7......." - If this have been real, the Yeshua died in ineffective, by using fact - as quickly as all of us die - we "are loose from sin", spectacular? incorrect. Sin is the errors guy took after Adam's transgression. as quickly as the physique is burned, there exist no errors. Deleted. that does no longer propose WE DESERVE something, and in actuality, as Yeshua pronounced, we "are slaves stable for no longer something" that should die, by using fact the only ingredient that the regulation brings in, is dying. After Yeshua's resurrection (the 1st one), many have been 'replaced' in a at once at their dying, and that 'corruptible' replaced into switched over into incorruptible. they at the instant are in an residing house with Him interior the abode of His Father "the place there exist many Mansions" and that they are going to contain Him "as in a cloud" whilst He returns along with his saints. people who He does not understand as "His sheep" might might desire to attend till the Resurrection on the top of the only thousand years, the place there will be - for some - a Resurrection of existence, and for others a Resurrection of Judgment. the realm of those unswerving to Him is the Universe, the Planets ("the stones of hearth" initially given to the religious creatures that in a while rebelled against God). issues will return to the circumstances existent on the very commencing up, lower back, and he will Reign as a King lower back. btw, you do no longer might desire to be a JW to study the Scriptures and enable somebody enable you be attentive to what they propose. that is there for all, be loose. study. study, the reality shall make you loose.
