Hi i have some daffodills in the backyard in a pot and they dont looks so great asthey use to. For some reason the plant can't hold itself up. The leaves have fallen down to the ground and some have ripped the leaves. What is wrong with the plant?? and if you can give suggestions on how to take care of it that would be nice too.

If it's the first year, it's just going dormant for the winter. If you've had it a few years and this hasn't happened, it may need to be divided.

Your symptoms spell a plant that is reaching for sun ( long and can't hold up) and or dry (can't stand up).
Daffs are very forgiving-- if you will give it water, it will live-- when you can --plant the bulbs in the ground where they get sun-- keep them watered and you'll see if they survive. If they are happy they will spread.
good luck

Hon, they only last for a short time - they are an annual. They die, go dormant and come back next year from the bulb.
