1.) Remember that it's really not a big deal at all. Nothing bad is going to happen to you.
2.) From an acting standpoint, make sure you know the monologue like the back of your hand and actually visuallize the atmosphere of the scene in your head. When you have your audition, smile, tell them your name, and tell them the name of the audition piece. Then, FORGET ALL ABOUT THEM. Focus on the scene so much that the auditioners don't even exist during the moments you're performing. You'll be thoroughly into your scene, which will impress the auditioners.
And once you've done a few auditions you start to get used to it quite easily. :)

Okay. Being nervous is a natural feeling that you get when you are about to do something exciting or scary. I find these tequniques very effective.
Now (2 weeks before:
1) Practice makes progress! Practice in every spare moment that you have. Also set a special time for practicing every day.
2) Have a friend evaluate how well you act. Perform your skit and ask them how you did. Friends are an excellent resource because they are honest but know how to be honest in a nice way.
3) Try doing some relaxation tequniques such as music therapy. Or try Aroma Therapy
The night before the audition:
1) Get a good nights sleep
2) Don't drink milk!
3) Eat balanced meals.
The day of the audition:
1) Give yourself enough time to arrive and to practice a little before you go into the room to audition.
2) Take three deep breaths in and hold for 3 counts each.
3) Walk in proudly and confident--you will do fine!
4) Remember that everyone is nervous and that they are all in the same position as you. Know that there are many other actors out there that want the same part as you. You may not get the part you want.
I have tried these techniques a lot! They really calm my nerves and I hope that they will do the same for you. Good luck! Remember, you will do fine no matter what! -Rayna

Rehearse until you absolutely know your routine frontwards and backwards. That will give you confidence in itself. And then imagine the folks you are auditioning for are terminal hospital patients or something similar. Imagine you are their last chance to have a really great time. I know it sounds corny but if you realize that you are the ONLY person who can tell them what you want them to hear, that they absolutely need to hear what only you are prepared to tell them, it will be much easier.
Don't compete, remember that only you know what these people need to hear. Works for speeches, teaching, even monologues.
After all, you ARE the only person who can tell them what you have for them. And then imagine them sitting there in their underwear. Once you get started and your monologue is firing on all eight cylinders they will be listening intently or laughing if it's comedy. You will feel the most amazing feeling of power and being in charge... and that will carry you through. Break a leg!
Please let me know how it goes.

What did your acting teacher teach you, to calm nevers during an audition. Use whatever you were taught in class.
