Hell, I never got my ears pierced. I never saw the need. If the kid really wants to get their ears pierced, then there is no set age. They should just be responsible enough to keep the piercing clean.

My best friend was three days old when her parents pierced hers. I personally think it should be up to the girl, it shouldn't be forced and it should NEVER be done at a mall with one of those guns! Those things spread disease, they can never be properly cleaned and the person doing the piercing 90% of the time hasn't been taught how to do it. Nothing wrong with going to a Tattoo/Piercing parlor to have it done.

I'm eighteen and I haven't had mine pierced, no need to.

There is no specific age. But my sisters got it when they were like two. It doesn't matter what age you get it because it is not a necessity. That's one reason why there isn't a right answer for this question. Any age is just fine to get ears pierced(at least except the first few months)

i don't think it matters very much but if they are way too little to take the pain and start crying i'd say that is too small. i was at the mall last week and watched a little girl of about 6 get her ears pierced and she started crying but i don't know why since i got mine first done when i was 5 and it didn't hutr at all in fact im 13 now and i've got 2 more done. i think it's the parent's decision.

well as i know, it is better to get your ears pierced when you are younger like as a toddler. As you get older your ear lobes get thicker which makes it more painful when they are pierced. so as a baby or as toddler around the age of five would be best

I got mine pierced at 5. I think it all depends on the girl and her parents. The age varies.

well, where i come from and as far as i know, if its the usual lobe piercing, girls get their ears pierced at the hospital when they are born. or sometime around then. thats what my parents did. if its another type of piercing you should wait until you are really sure.

when they are old enough to ask for them. and, i'll tell you why... with my first daughter, i didn't have them done when she was a baby (btw, you have to wait until they are 3 mos old unless you have a doctor do it). when she was 10, she decided to do it for her birthday. No big deal. With my second daughter, I got them done when she was 3 mos old. Big mistake. She didn't pull on them a lot but now that she is 5, the holes are stretched and larger than normal. So , I say wait until they are old enough to ask, and old enough to care for them properly...

IMO they should be old enough to make there own choice. I would say 10-15 years old.
I dont agree with peircing babies ears because it should be their choice.
