If i use hydrochloric acid to remove rust off a stucco finish will it damage the stucco as well?

Or are there better ways of removing rust from a stucco finish?

Phosphoric acid is usually used for rust remover, and you can get it in a Gel form that makes it easy to apply, and safer to use than hydrochloric..

The brand name Naval Jelly is one that comes to mind.

it will etch it ( try naval jelly )
