I mentioned this the other day (he supports newcastle and i support Reading) and it is still continuing. I dont know wether to put up with it or to dump him for someone who supports another team (or someone who is less argumentative)

You're still arguing? Haven't you both got anything better
to do, in this freezing weather, like snuggling up together under a duvet?

Either talk about football or talk about other football teams and not newcastle and reading. I know it's hard but Newcastle is a pretty argumentative team, we are in general. Enjoy the sensible mindless arguing now when you can. If he is mean and abnotious about it, dump him.

I assume by support you mean you stick up for this team in an argument and look out for their results rather than go to watch them. Otherwise you would never see each other at weekends.
Hey presto ! There is your answer, you go to watch Reading every week and he goes to Newcastle matches.
You'll probably meet some hunky Reading fan and he'll cop off with a geordie lass and your problems will be history.

I'm sure after telling you that Newcastle are a big club that he will hold up his 3 inch replica of the inter toto cup. seeing as that's the only silverware they have won since the 50's! Dump him!!

teasing can lead to certain activities which when done while angry can be very entertaining ;) if u know what i mean. i'm sure u'll work something out - if u love him its a bit of a silly reason to dump him
note: u committed a cardinal sin by buying him a sheffield united shirt. if someone bought ME an arsenal jersey i'd probably fist them in the face

being a man united fan if my girlfriend bought me a liverpool, arsenal, chelski, man city shirt i would be pleased.my dog has got a bad stomach of late and we generally need to clear his mess up this last week, sometimes my little boy is sick and that also needs to be cleared up,if i step in dog poo that needs to be cleaned off my shoes i could not think of anything better than using a liverpool shirt to get right in the treads to clean my shoes up-and if i was ever in the unfortunate posistion where i had forgot to buy toilet roll and there were only these named shirts that i had been bought lying conveniently on the floor-well you can guess the rest!!

By the time you make up your mind, you'll probably be used to arguing with him. And I have noticed that couples who argue last longer than the ones that don't. Have you heard the saying opposites attract! well, even if the arguing is for football, you will probably end up staying with him for a long time! I think it makes it less boring...both need to compromise, 50/50.

Me & my now ex split over it. He's Arsenal and I'm Chelsea, he believed i should convert coz im a girl!!!! he had to go!
It seems silly but it got to the point where if his team lost he wouldn't want to sleep in the same bed for my gloating and vice versa. We have now split and and are selling the house....
LOL something to tell the grand kids anyway...
When u look at it it's pretty dumb, but if it was meant to be it would have been..... ce la vie!!!

decide 2 either
ban ever talking about football, again?
loads of safe subjects.
draw straws & consider deflection?
but if he's 1 of them men that r always argumentative, happy 2 bicker.
nothing much will change his mind.
u know him better than me.
stick at it & argue.
leave & find a reading supporter next time.
