really only some conservatives feel that way. it's so easy to pass judgment from where we sit, and politics is such a huge target for hatred....it always goes both ways.

ignore 90% of it and skim of what seems to be most important and take that to the voting booth with you:)))

I attribute it all to a huge difference in viewpoints. People believe that they are right, and because they are right, then everyone else must be wrong. The problem often arises that there IS no one particular "correct" way to run the government. Both sides of the political spectrum have good ideas, the problem is, that neither side has all the right answers.

If the Republicans wish to consider me damned, then so be it. I will not hold it against them. If the Democrats want to think that the Republicans are condemned to hell, then good for them. I will continue to seek a healthy middle ground from which to try and figure out the best of both worlds.

Then again, what do I know... I'm stuck in purgatory.

As an aside:

One of the things I find rather odd though, is that people seem to constantly associate Liberal with Democrats, and Conservative with Republicans. When one could technically be a Liberal Republican, or a Conservative Democrat. Not to mention the huge number of variations in between.

So once more, all I can say is "Be excellent to Each other!"

It's the religious right versus the atheist left !!!

At least that is the miss conception. I know many church going god fearing liberal democrats and I also know many conservative republicans that would be struck by lightening if they ever stepped foot in a church.

My church is full of republican conservatives and liberal democrats every Sunday.

I do know a lot of churches talk that way but I am sure they are not all Republican. I have never heard that refering to political parties. But most of the things liberals support are definitely against the bible and I could see why you think that way.

Because the ultra-right "Christians"--who are only a small minority, BTW--if obnoxiously vocal--have made their political ideology into a religion and substituted it for what Christ actually taught.

And because they also have become intolerlant--for example, their catchphrase "you're either with us or against us" and their attempts to label anyone who disagrees with their policy proposals--or points out the corruption of one of "their own" as unChristian, unpatriotic, a "friend of terrorists," etc. ad nauseum. Not to mention their efforts to stereotype anyone of the muslim faith as a supporter of terrorism (which is patently ridiculous).

Note--all of the above has been adopted by this group as a matter of religious doctrine--not just as a political position. Fortunately it's not true of most Republicans--the majority are conservative, but are also sensible and open-minded--and I wish them the best in their efforts to take their party back from these extremists who have hijacked it.

Its the 90 million evangelicals who have gone insane and are high on Jesus . They have rallies like the clan(KKK) once did and come out of those mega churches ready to change the world .
The went before people like Ted Haggard (homosexual crank head)and got filled with the spirit of Jesus amen brother . Nothing like a good pep rally to get the blood flowing and Charge the team up for victory and prepare to do battle for a football trophy in the schools athletic case . Remember High school pep rallies . The games and then after they would attack the visiting team and pelt them with rocks water balloons trash and rush the bus and begin rocking it . The good old days before gun play . Getting these 90 million people charged up each weekend ready to go do battle united to destroy non Christians . Have you heard the latest about a group of businesses that got loans purchased products on credit sold them and then filed for bankruptcy after donating most of the cash to the church from the sales . Then other members go in buy back the property at auction and begin again . Leaving those banks and creditors high and dry . Thats ok cause the are heathens and do not follow the word of Jesus amen brother .
Just another scam designed to suck people in and relieve them of some money for making them feel good a few hours a week . Guess its less harmful then drinking . But smoking pot I don't know about that now . You can get high all week on some bud and instead of handing over you money to Jesus its the local grower who is spending it back in the community on cars rims and stereos eating at kfc .Can I get an amen brother .
I am an atheist and know from experience if God wanted something he would kill us or appear to us . MAybe flood the place out like with a storm called Katrina .
Thats why Bush cares so little about the pot smoking beer drinking blacks who use to live in the ninth ward . God flooded them out .

Because the Demonrats support murdering innocent little babies (although they are now calling it reproductive rights), homosexuality, stem cell research (again murdering the innocent to save Michael J. Fox's pathetic existence like he's more important than a baby) and so on.

And to answer the respondent who said we are not supposed to judge, the Bible clearly states that Christians will be judged and will judge others in the end. The quote that is often misinterpreted, as has been here, is "judge not lest you be judged."

The only people who don't like others judging them are those that are Satanic.

Look through a lot of the liberal questions and comments here, most reject God and call any believer a fool. Plus you don't see many claiming repubs are "saved" just wouldn't confirm them as hell bound yet. There are God fearing librals I am sure, but for some reason they don't find their way to this venue for some reason. Plus reminding people of hell fire gets under their skin so it is kind of fun to point it out.

I don't damned them to hell but they will have to answer to God for killing innocent babies or funding to kill innocent babies, for taking His name out of anything public and shoving Him aside, gay and lesbianism ( God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Sadam or Eve and Genevieve).

All these immoral actions and unethical behavior is destroying what was once good and liberals truly don't see it. That is why "I" have a MAJOR problem with liberalism. They think that they can do whatever they want and not be held accountable but heaven forbid someone else (conservative) do something, they are on them like white on rice. That is hypocrisy.

it fairly is purely between the methods that Democrats get votes from the uninformed. each election cycle we get to hearken to approximately how if the Republican wins there will be not extra Social protection, not extra scientific shelter grandma, how abortions would be made unlawful...the checklist is going on and on.
