Lex used to be a nice guy and then at the end of season 5 and in season 6 he's just so mean. At Lana and Lex's dinner party, Martha Kent had the nerve to show up at the party along with Chloe. That's an out rage there. I hate Lex and Lana I wish something would happen to ripp those two appart. Lex is a total *?#/ (Too inappropriate so say!)

It's been a long build-up, and they have alot of obvious character differences, with Clark disapporving of alot of Lex's methods, Lex being resentful of Clark's friends and family...but the key moment was probably when Lionel mailed Clark the key to the room in the mansion where Lex kept all the stuff he had been spying/researching about Clark.

It's been a gradual buildup. For one thing, there's Lana Lang - obvious jealousy there. Plus, Clark always had what Lex never did - a father who loved and trusted him. Then there's the fact that Lex has always suspected Clark has more going on than he admits, but Clark would never confide in him, so that p**** him off. Just a lot of little things over a period of time. As far as I'm concerned, they runied the Lana Lang character. She's always whining about Clark keeping secrets. Puleaze!!!! Lex is more secretive than the CIA and Homeland Security combined.

Lex has always envied Clark for "his loving family, inconspicuous life and devoted girlfriend" during seasons 4,5,6 Clark has interfered with multiple plans that Lex had conducted under the table. also since they met he's always suspected Clark had a secret.
near the end of season 3 Lionel gave Clark a Key to Lex's private room at the mansion with all of his data on Clark. Clark saw the room and ended their friendship, Through season 4, and the first half of 5 they sort of started to make peace,in 5 Lex and Lana started to grow closer, and in "Hypnotic" Lex hired the hypnosis chick to make Clark cheat on Lana and break them up, Clark chose to stay broken up and Lex stepped up his game to seduce Lana, thus getting "the one that was most important to him"

It is basically this, Clark is liked and loved by all and Lex is hated because he is a Luthor. If you know the history of Superman, then Lex is the most hated man and that Clark is the one person that people go to for help. If you watch the Justice League series, and read the comics of Superman, then you know the history of them. I see Lex turning into what they have on the series and the comics. And of course Clark is going to our superhero.

obvious answer is Lana Lang. Also, Clark has disrupted more than one plan of Lex's. I think lex is also a little jealous of Clark being the golden boy. Lex is getting meaner because he is getting more obsessed with power and all that.

No i do no longer think of they're going to, that's the begining of their friendships downfall. whilst the writers have not precisely accompanied the tale lines from the orginal comics too lots water has exceeded below the brige for them to place their changes aside.
