it means being outdoors for too long and you get sick, especially if you're not used to being outdoors

Most definately fact. It is extreme anxiety due to beng trapped.

I got snowed in for 2 days at my inlaws house when I was 7 months pregnant. I was about to climb the walls. Since I was really pregnant everything bothered me and I couldn't get out and I couldn't leave, and I was surrounded by people that I wasn't real comfortable with. It was 2 days of hell. If I ended up stuck there for the entire winter, there would have been a good case of cabin fever.

when a person has been cooped up in a cabin or confined space and needs to get outside and away from the place of confinement for a period of time. definitely a fact.

Fact it happened to me, I worked on a cargo ship for over a year, and my cabin was so small, and you know in cargo ships there is nothing to do after you finish your work, so I spent in my cabin much of my time plus it didn't have any windows, nor any other source of natural light or fresh air, I started to get sick, my skin was dry, and itchy, it was horrible...

Fact ...but it's not an actual fever, it's just a type of stir craziness from bordom or being trapped indoors with nothing to do.

i had it bad when i got my tonsil out in november, i was in the house for over a week without going anywhere, i couldn't wait to get in the car and go somewhere
