Well, I can tell you that my dog has a first, middle and last name! Her name is Marley Petunia (my last name). But then, I treat her more like a member of the family than a pet anyway!

I usually try to name my animals what I will be calling them to help reduce any confusion. However, I do manage to come up with nick names still. Charlie (horse), I tend to quite often call Char char. Charlie (cat), I tend to call Charlie cat.

The name of an ex-racehorse that I will be picking up this coming Monday is not appealing to me and so instead of calling him "Integrated Disc", I probably will be calling him Buddy, Precious, or Handsome.
