do you have same kind of life style that was 60 years ago ???
comparison to past is not a bad idea, but see,
currently Indians are not so determined.
60 years back, we were an newly born nation and efforts of all Indians mattered a lot.
Today we have incidents like national flag is printed on plates, is hosted at ' incorrect places ' and time....
This only prove that people are not caring.
Strictly speaking, i would say NO, Vande Matram doesnt have the same effect, it once had 60 years ago.

As time changes, perceptions and views change. When Vande Mataram came came out years ago, India was a brand new nation, and so logically speaking, there was more attachement to its meaning among Indians.
When it comes to your question on the "same" effect, my answer would be, no. It doesnt have the "same", but yes, it still maintains a new, different "effect".
I mean, when you watch K3G, and hear that little kid sing 'vandemataram', you have to have atleast some kind of motivication and pride for being Indian. And then again, people with the other point of view have it tagged on as being a way to show-off non-indian indianism.
Both ways, it has opened a pretty good debate, and if not national pride, it does seem to maintain a kind of "effect" amongst Indians today. ^_^

Yes, it was true that this Patriotic song was a boost and spirit, leading thousands of Indians during the freedom struggle towards nationalism. Surely this patriotic song is an eternal song which will never fade away in its richness of feeling of patriotism and the spirit of dedication towards the mother land. But the tragedy is that the present generation is not interested in such feeling that are expressed in this song. Even our honourable ministers and M.Ps do not know who wrote this song! They do not know that it is the National Song. It was witnessed by the interview conducted by the NDTV 24X7 among the ministers and M.Ps. Such is the condition of our nation and national leaders. How can you expect then from this generation the effects from this song. We have left behind our ancestral treasures and values and marching ahead only for an economical growth. Will this song help to boost the economy of the country? will it be sold today? will it make profit today? If not, surely it has no effect. Blame it on our leaders and political system!

Why not?
By looking at the changes coming in our lifestyles you may have this doubt, but U can't live in 1950's as the world, technology develops. As our technology development moves us towards the sophistication, thus our lifestyles are changing,
But Earning money and modern lifestyle do not decrease the respect towards "VANDEMATHARAM"
It is our National anthem, certainly it has the same effect what it has 60 years back and would have the same effect in future

Your doubt are more clear, we should not surprise if it stand with bollywood remixes and drift further away towards the horizon.
The feeling, the touch, the concern, the meaning it created is hardly ever felt now a days, future is yet to come!!!

yes,why not it is the national song of India,it is not the matter of sixty years, its patriotism and love towards your mother land, one should understand it clearly it is not an Hindu bhakti or religious song, its a nations prayer,so it should be respected and must sing,it holds much higher status than our national anthem Jana gana mana, remember if feel shame in your national, its just like abusing your mother land.so i think it has higher impact in our present days than in sixty years.

Frankly, it doesn't have any impact or great inspiration on the public. In fact, except a handfull of hindutva fanatics, nobody can memorise or understand it. Already we have jana gana mana and it is enough.
