Homosexuality is not a disease although practice of homosexual behaviors often leads to rather serious diseases. Sexual preference is an opinion. A person’s sexual preferences are affected by several factors many of which were formed in childhood.

If a child is befriended by a male during times of stress the child will develop a bond to males and a preference for male companionship that may be interpreted as homosexual tendencies and if while still young the child is encouraged to consider himself homosexual and told his preferences are homosexual he will probably become homosexual especially if his first homosexual experience is pleasant and leads to orgasm. If this same child is also rebuffed by juvenile attempts to form relations with the opposite sex the tendency to desire sex with any other person will be strengthened and the first pleasant experience may set the orientation. If the first physical experience is traumatic while the other factors explained above are in play the child may develop an asexual orientation, or some variation or a mix of orientations the orientation (attitude) not being absolute.

Since society tends to encourage heterosexual behavior if no traumatic episodes are encountered a heterosexual orientation is most likely to develop. However this is only part of the explanation.

Studies on other animals have shown that overcrowding can also cause a rise in homosexual behavior. This makes homosexuality a natural response to the human condition. These studies show that animals in an overcrowded situation where there was plenty of food and other resources would develop homosexual behaviors (males mounting males and females refusing males while sexually stimulating each other).

Homosexuality in America at least is a natural phenomenon. Solving the disease problems is in everyone’s best interest. Solving the population and crowding problem is in all our best interests as well. Homosexual orientation is not a problem leave them alone.

There is no "cure" For homosexuality but just as this fact is true so is the fact that your sexuality does not have to define who you are. I am a gay man and am married to a wonderful beautiful woman and have been for 30 years. Doctors have tried to convince me that there was something wrong with the situation but fight as hard as I did all I ever got out of it was more and more ill. I finally accepted the fact that I was gay but I also had to accept the fact that my soul mate is a woman. As for relationships with men, I know that it can work and it can be wonderful but it is not for me. Too many one night stands, too many people in denial and spreading diseases. Liars, cheaters and bigamists. I will stay married and happy and take solace in the fact that men are beautiful , but so is my life. Sounds to me also that you with your gay bashing ways are a closet queen just screaming and banging at the door for release, why else would you be so concerned over what others think.

No, Jesus has never "been known to cure homosexuality." Homosexuality is not a disease, so there is nothing to cure. Jesus never married and spent all his time in the company of 12 MEN. Take the hint.

Homosexuality cannot be cured because it ain't a disease! Geez. It's not really a big deal... some are born with blue eyes as other are born with green eyes. Both pair of eyes work the same. Same thing with gays...

Dude.. JESUS doesn't exist. Stop talking to imaginary friends... now THAT IS a disease.

I'm not a homosexual, but I have a homosexual brother and I feel as though most of the bible were diaries of the people who lived back then, therefore opinions! If Jesus says he loves you for you, how can he say he can cure it like it's a desease? I think... I know Jesus loves you for you! HE LOOKS INSIDE YOUR HEART!

I guess you're referring to the "gay Christian camps" where they supposedly "cure" gays. I'm also guessing that you have not researched these camps, and don't realize that after 6 months, the preachers DO NOT do follow ups on their "patients", that within 2 years many go back to their natural sexuality, or worse, feel so ashamed of being gay that they marry people of the opposite sex and have gay affairs (also called "living on the down low")

Save the energy you spend on rhetoric and use it on research.

The biggest cure for all of mankind would be for self-righteous, sanctimonious hypocrites to mind their own business and stop using God as an excuse for justifying intolerance and bigotry!

Jesus is the one who made them that way. You need to go back to your religon category. Why don't you start worrying more about what is going on inside the church than what is going on behind other people's closed doors? oh, and ridin drrty is laughing AT you, not WITH you.

I did open my heart to Jesus. And he opened his doors for me and invited me in for a Mexican Fiesta. Mmm. He makes a hell of an enchilada. Oh man, and those Margaritta's are strong! And we talked for hours and he told me, he said,"Xindy, if you want to be gay, you be gay. I will love you no matter what." And I said, "Well thanks Jesus, now get me another Corona and let's keep this party going."
