False. You should wear HEAVIER clothes than temperatures might indicate. Because you can remove layers of clothing if the temperatures become warmer. But, if the temperatures become COLDER, you are stuck being COLD, and have the possibility of getting hypothermia. Also, the wind can come up suddenly and create a "wind-chill factor" which generally (except in VERY RARE cases) lowers the temperature significantly.

One final reason; Even if the temperature is hot and getting hotter, clothing still protects you from the sun. It may also help soak up your sweat and help cool you through evaporative cooling. It is ALWAYS better to have clothing protecting you, and it is ALWAYS better to be prepared for the WORST...

Is right on the money. You can always remove clothes if necessary, but, you cant put them on if it's necessary if you don't have them.!
