Yes but it is mostly because I have seniority. I choose to stay in a staff nurse position because I have been in management and lost sight of the real reason I became a nurse. The authority I have is that a lot of people come to me to ask questions including the manager but not the authority to rule which is okay with me. When I did I felt like a glorified baby sitter.

I use to have all the authority when I was working, but I also didn't have a personal life. Everytime something went wrong I was the one who got all the phone calls.
Now the only authority I have is in my own home and that is fine with me.

I'm a substitute teacher so: I have no authority whatsoever over things happening at each of the schools I teach at. But I have complete authority during the day over the kids in my classes! :)

Second in the department But I like to get the other involved, so I don't have to use any authority. I like to think of us as a team.

I have authority over myself if I choose to get up and go to work or not. Other than that, nope I don't have any authority and I kind of like that!

It's kind of a make-believe kind of authority. I know what I'm doing so they ask me all kinds of questions. Then the management does the opposite to make it impossible for everyone else to do their job right.
Corporate intellegence at it's best.

At my job, I am the man. I don't have to answer to anyone only God. I can say what I want, do what I want, and take a nap if I want. Wouldn't you love to have this job?
I don't think so. You can't handle my job or should I say you don't want to handle it.
I'm disabled with Multiple Sclerosis.
I would love to work anywhere.
