I sure hope so. The problem is that there is a small pool compared to white candidates. Very few black men are born silver-spoon fed like that imbecile Bush and have everything handed to them. Then you have Clinton who was able to overcome his white trash upbringing. But how many blacks were being accepted into Ivy League schools & given Rhode scholarships in the 60's or 70's? The simple fact is that black people on average have not had as many opportunities and advantages as whites in the past to even get to the point of having the experience & political connections to run for office. Add to that there is still too many closeminded, and/or redneck, hillbilly people who will vote for some fool because they don't know any better (which explains why bush got elected twice) So maybe within the next couple of decades we will have a president of color, but probably not anytime soon.

hi,
the problem with that kind of thinking is, its the best way for us not to have a president that is of color. in politics they are not ready to relenquish the rings of controle to someone that might have a better idea as to how the U.S. should be ran. not to menchen that there are so many whites that are afaid of the smart and intellagent black man. i know taht sounds racest but think about it. so many white people have been tought that the blacks are not smart enough to run there own lives so the whites have to tell them how to do it. just look at history and you wil realese that there is some truth in what i am saying. look at slavery. the idea put in the heads if so many was that we (the whites) have to take those savages from there home lands where they could in no way be happy and teach them what we feel is happness for them, by putting them into bondage.an if they protest to hard we will beat them to make sure that they think the same way. just one example, a second one is after freedom, okay they are free but they are not as good as we are we are the ones who are supearior and to make sure they know it what ever they say that is smart, or do that is smart, we will clame it for ours.if they sing a song that is any good we will clam it . yes you can be free but you can not at time be allowed to vote, state your opinion or live a life taht is what we would call worthy of white mans life style, and if that is not enough lest try something even betrter, if you even think about lessoning to any one with intellegents well we will just kill him (Martin Luther King,) the one black man who might have been the president of these United States a little earlier than most whitemen would have wanted. lest go a little feather, if there is any chance that a black man could become president then we should make sure that that neaver happens by keeping them in as much parvity as possable. until those of you out there stoping thinking like that. the thought of making any more american political history be it black or white id highly impossable.

I think Condeleeza Rice will be the first black and the first woman to be president. She has to distance herself from the Bush administration first so look for her to run in 2012. She is well liked internationally also.

You must live in a very racist part of the country. When a qualified black man launches a campaign, he will probably become president. It's not about if, but when.

No, and that i don't evaluate Obama black the two. he's a mulatto, to be technical, 0.5 white and 0.5 black, and African black, at that, not African-American black. yet he grew to become into raised by a white female. the only element he has in undemanding with maximum American blacks is that his dad wasn't around.

Eventually, yes. When or who, nobody knows. My top choice for 2008 is black but said she doesn't want to run.
