If you should feel necessarliy compelled to then do it. However, repairmen are not someone you should normally tip. Tips should be given to people whose income depends on it. Wait staff are usually paid below minimum wage because it is expected that they make up for it in tips. The repairman is going to be paid a very nice rate for the work he is doing. He is not depending on a tip.
If the repairman did emergency work for you then you might tip him. However, if he charges you a fee for making an emergency call, then he is already receiving compensation for the work done. A tip would not be needed then.

Typically, no.
Did he do something outside the norm? For example, clean more than he had to, replace some parts at no charge when it might not have been necessary. Did he do a lot of work and clean up after himself very well? Was it a middle of the night call?
If this type of thing, then $10 would be nice. Under normal circumstances, it is not appropriate, nor expected.
I gave a repairman an extra $20 one time because he did a lot of extras that were not charged for. He spent a lot of extra time and made sure I was happy with the product, not just with what he fixed. That was not his responsibility, but he wanted to make sure that the customer was satisfied.

All doors are open presently & every tom dick & harry is free to have a go, choose your name & kick Indian cricket for free, they are responsible for this mess. Not guilty till proven so but everyone is looking for more sensation & especially some people who are here at YA only for this purpose, so can't expect any sympathy. Look at the answer SBS has given & you'll understand that a balanced person has balanced views & others with imbalanced views can count themselves accordingly & there are plenty of them around. Kicking someone already on the ground is easy but hardly anyone extends a helping hand & they stand out in millions..

No. He is working for a good wage. You might considerate it if he went out of his way to serve you and then something like $10 or $20 would be sufficient to keep him coming back when called. Or if you don't want him to come back give him $1. He will get the idea.

If you feel he was considerate, cleaned up, was friendly, and caused you no concern and showed you the part that was broke, 10 or 20 bucks is good.
Most repair guys see 1/3 of the labor part of the bill, the company gets most of the profits.

generally, no... that is all factored into the rate you paid them. However, if you feel it was such an outstanding job, then tips are based on 15%, but just give him a tip that would cover the cost of a lunch etc... just to make it feel like , hey nice job, thanks, but not so small that it would be insulting. My guess, $10-if your really impressed $20

No! They're charging you insane labor rates already of which he'll get a cut. Just offer something to drink to be nice.

I like to add an extra $20 to the tab or a case of his favourite brew - I take care of him... he takes care of me.
