I'm thinking it might settle into "wrinkles" and stuff...

No!! Mineral makeup is FANTASTIC for all ages because it creates such a soft look. I use my mineral powders on my mum (she is 51) and her skin looks gorgeous. Although she doesn't have many it does cover her wrinkles, does not settle into them but at the same time it also looks just like she has naturally great skin (which she does, damn her!)
Just make sure she purchases an eyeshadow shading brush to apply the powder foundation under her eyes, as if it is put on with a large brush it can accentuate the wrinkles, crows feet around and under the eyes.

I wore foundation at age 12! due to a severe form of Acne, and it really didn't do anything terrible to my skin except conceal my horrible imperfections and boost my confidence. I would say only wear foundation if you have to, at your age if your skin isn't affected by any acne or a noticeable birth mark then I wouldn't go for a full coverage foundation, because you certainly wouldn't need it. It isn't bad to wear makeup at your age but sometimes it can be a bit unnecessary to wear as much as a mature woman. You should try using a cream blush as it's a highly youthful and natural looking product and you only need a little bit compared to a powder blush which can look a bit too ''matte'' and ''intense'' and if you're interested in wearing bronzer then I recommend you get one in a soft flattering shade (I recommend Two Faced Sun-Bunny bronzer).

No, the mineral powder foundation is actually better for older skin. Are you thinking of bare minerals? That stuff is good for all skin. T. Clerc is also good but difficult to find and even more expensive than the Bare Minerals.

Go to Sephora - they have a special line of make up for older skin. It's especially designed not to fall into wrinkles.

well there is powder and then there is foundation...then there is the mix of both. i think that foundation is heavy..and not nice and its a pain to take off. powder is different though...i am 50 this year and i use a light transclucent powder...from Clinique - which is really nice. it doesnt settle into lines and looks really healthy and natural. can i add...you sound very 'unselfish' ...thinking of your mum when you could really spend it on yourself...takes a special person...my kids are like you...very nice!

It's not bad for mature skin but your mom may want to use a more substantial moisturizer to make up for not wearing liquid foundation anymore. If she has wrinkles, maybe a primer would also help.

I think mineral makeup is good for people of all ages. I tried it on my grandma once and she looked great!

yes it would settle in to fine lines but if she uses a face cream that evens out her skin before hand she should be fine
