my 8 month old daughter doesn't crawl the normal way. She slithers on her stomach like a snake and uses her feet to push. I try to get her to crawl the right way but she doesn't want to. She's a very active baby, but is that normal?

There is no actual "right way" for a baby to crawl, there's lots of different ways for a baby to get around. As long as she gets around on her own and is not hurting herself doing it, then I don't see why you would want to change it, she won't be crawling for much longer anyways, pretty soon she'll be walking. And who knows, she may start to crawl the "right way" she is just enjoying the fact that she can get around on her own!

Yes, that is normal. My daughter did the same thing at first, but a couple weeks later started using her arms because she realized she is faster that way. My mom says that my sister did the same thing when she was a baby. Some babies even crawl backwards. Babies just do whatever feels easiest for them.

Yes it is normal. 2 of my children started out that way. It just gets them used to the movement. Eventually the baby will get up on its knees and start crawling. Your baby is normal and just fine. Every child is different and will do things a bit different and that is just normal. Enjoy the wonderfulness of watching your child start moving around.

Haha, that's completely normal. She's still developing her muscle, she can't quite lift all of her tummy off the floor and crawl on hands and knees. She'll get there eventually, she just has to get through the army crawl first.

Very normal! All babies are different and they all crawl differently. This is what she is comfortable with. She probably won't ever crawl the "normal" way. But this is the norm for her.

Completely normal. My son looked like he was doing an "army crawl"..on the stomach, basically using his arms to push himself forward.
Don't worry.

Very normal (and I believe they call it "creeping"). It's her "commando" style shuffle and lots of babies do it. My son never crawled... he creeped like your daughter until he just got up one day and walked. Now that he's 18 months, he has decided he likes crawling. Go figure!

Yes that is normal, My first baby din't crawl normally either. She did what you are decsribing and not long after doing that for about a month she was pulling herself up to stand.
