to sarge 927: Why don't we start with the House of reps in 2008? And maybe an independent for president would be nice too.

Without a doubt.
How about getting some people on the ballots who know what it's like to get up and go to work instead of these silver spoon fed rich bitches?
The two party system sucks.
No more perks either. Once they are gone, give them a pen set and say see ya! No more lifetime health care and what not.
Let them work for it like the rest of us.

I call for a vote of no confidence in the parties who continually perpetuate this lunacy that we are constantly living under, reading about, watching stories of, and talking about. While both parties have made impressive contributions to how we are as a people, they have also hindered that same society's growth, politically, intellectually, and communally. I'm not asking for the Democrats and Republicans to be removed from the loop. I'm asking for one or three parties to be added. Odd numbers make it more easy to form voices of moderation, and inject other opinions, without destroying the process. We live in a technicolor world, so why should our political structure be grey scaled? We know the world is more than yes and no. There's maybe and what if, too. Let our politics reflect it, for a change, rather than encourage monopolies that polarizes us into either/or.

I sure as heck do. If we want to get our country back, then in 2012 (when every elected official in D.C. will be running for office again) we need to vote EVERYONE out. Get rid of all those idiots who only care about getting re-elected so they can pad their already fat bank accounts and get some people in there who actually give a $h!t about turning this country around and making changes that will REALLY count. Doesn't matter if they're Republican or Democrat -- they're equally worthless. Clean the slate and start over.

I think we need to sweep D.C. into the ocean and start over. Do people realize that anyone who meets the age and citizenship requirements can run for office? And that if you're running, TV networks are required to give you equal time? With modern technology and the internet, maybe its time to revamp our election system, and restore the idea "Of the People, by the People, and for the People" Personally I'm tired of the Democrats & the Repulicans, elections should not be about parties, but about people, We the People.

Radical change is certainly necessary in Washington, but also within the minds of Americans across the country. A fresh approach to governing is a good start...taking the role which has been entrusted to them seriously, and truly acting in the best interests of the country. But at the same time, citizens need to hold their leaders to task. Regardless of who was voted in, it is vital that everyone throw their support behind them and make it work. (That is not to be misunderstood with blind patriotism...if the president doesn't deserve respect or support...then do what you can to force change!) We cannot continue with this bipartisan war going on...the country divided is the most dangerous position to be in at this time in our lives and history!

The change I'd like to see most is the end of the undemocratic electoral college. Maybe then there would be more than two parties, and some new ideas could see the floor of congress.

Less pollution.
Alternative fuel for cars.
Peace.
Less Corporate control.

Commonwealth and nationalized Health Care.
I doubt a Republican can do what I want.

Well, the first thing we need to do is sit the members of our government down and give them a lesson in the Constitution!!!

I would really like to see all of Congress lose their retirement packages and be put on Social Security like the rest of us. Watch how fast they'd fix it then.
