Hi everyone!
I need some of your help. I have birthday in
two weeks and I wanted to celebrate it with my friends.
But I'm afraid if the party is going to be at my home that they
will destroy it. I mean all the stuff my mum has been collecting could
be ruined. I'm not telling that because I just predict it's going
to happen, I'm telling that because it already happend to
two of my friends. I really want to have a party but don't know where
and what kind of party should it be. Please give me some ideas!
And don't tell me to have it at my dad's because his new wife
is a real Cruela DeVille.
Thanks for the ideas in the advance. :]

Have the party, just pack away all the breakables.

House parties are tough because of those problems so this is what I do when I am having band parties at my house (and my roommate sounds a lot like your step-mum)

:)

The day before the party, take anything valuable or breakable and wrap it up and store it in boxes. Then move the furniture as far back to the walls as possible. Get some cheap throws from Targer or LTD Direct or even Dollar Stores and throw them all over your couches/chairs.

The day of the party, make sure that you have it set up so that people know that these are places you can go and these are not.

What I normally do is put up bar stools and bean bag chairs in hallways that I dont want people going down, also, I just let them know in advance, that hey, i have a roommate and i dont want you upstairs, near her room or in what ever other places I dont want them.

If you have a deck or a back yard, try to keep the party from the kitchen/dining room to the back yard... Have lots of trash bags and cans around (those are also good for blocks) and just kinda pick up little by little as you go.

For things that you CAN NOT MOVE or store, just make sure to keep an eye on them... Keep them out of the way and let people know that oyu would appreciate them not touching them.

LAst, talk with your mum and let her know that you want to have a party and are willing to carefully pack up and protect all of her things and keep them in your room until after the party and you have finished cleaning up.

Now, if this isnt good, why not have a party in the park or at some other cool place? Do a city search and find cool places that you could meet up with your friends and just go! It wouldnt be a private party, but it would be fun any ways, tell them that you will be meeting up at a certain time for lunch/snacks and let the place know in advance that you will be placing a large food order.

Its cheaper than renting out anywhere and its fun because you dont haev to worry about the damange.

Good luck!!! :)

Instead of having a party at your house make a reservation for everyone at a restaurant/bar. Cheaper for you and no danger of breaking moms stuff. Or do it at a bowling alley or pool hall.

Or reconsider how many people to invite over. If people are wrecking your house, they're being rude and aren't being good friends anyways. They're probably just there for the party, and not for you. Maybe a nice dinner out with your best friends or a big sleepover would be more fun?

First of all I need to point out that if these people are you friends they would care enough to respect your home, and not wreck it. However look for an outside source. Possiblly have it at a gym or sporting place and play wallyball and basketball, have it at a restarant, dance club, marnia club house, but remember any place you have a party your going to have to put a security deposit down and if your friends destroy the place you will have to pay for it. sounds to me like you need to find new friends that will respect your property and belongings. then you can have a party where ever you wish. if you friends are the type to destroy other peoples prroperty, what is going to stop them from doing at an establishment? only then, you will get to help pay for the damages. My advice, dump the friends that dont respect other peoples property, and find some more responsible and mature friends

Why don't you have a themed party for a few of your close friends...not everyone you happen to know. Also, you could have a cocktail party so right off the bat people just know you can't act like a delinquent juvenile.

Ask your dad to hire a hall - boy scouts hall, for example. It would be a lot cheaper than paying for the damage. And make sure there are adults who can control the situation.

What about an outside party if it's warm where you are? If not what about a party at the movie theater or at a pizza place?

Have it where you want but be more selective about who you invite. You don't have to have a basher in order to have a good party.
