I have a 2006 Scion tC. I just had the brakes replaced about 3 months ago, so I know that isn't the problems, and I just put new tires on it about a month ago so that isn't it either. Everytime I am on the gas and going under 40MPH my car makes a really loud screecing noise. Seeing as my car is only a year and a half old IDK what could be wrong. Can anyone help??

Let me start off by saying that new tires and new brakes are no guarantee of problem-free tires and brakes; sometimes repairs are done incorrectly, or parts fail quickly due to a manufacturing defect.

Having said that, I can only think of one thing, although it's kind of a shot in the dark -- with the limited information you've provided, I'm going to assume that (a) the noise sounds like it's coming from the front of the car, (b) the sound is momentary, when you press the gas hard, rather than constant, and (c) it really is a "screech" instead of a "grind".

Your serpentine belt is slipping, either due to moisture, incorrect tension, or a belt tensioner wearing out.

Take it back to the dealer and demonstrate the problem for them, then let them fix it; that's what your warranty is for. Good luck.

other than being a scion, sounds like something is scraping.take it to the dealer for warranty repair.while its being looked at, look at a better make of vehicle. but also ask yourself, are you riding with your foot on the brake,or just above it.

The exhaust equipment is in all threat leaking, the two from a blown out muffler, tail pipe, exhaust pipe, or a foul catalytic converter! Sound high priced?---it incredibly is! in case you have not found out the ratio of working to make money to pay for upkeep on your motor vehicle, then you fairly could in all threat journey the bus! The fix you're in is like hitching the cart in front of the horse! Any way, you are able to not do something to delay the existence of the exhaust equipment. And no short cuts to do a short-term fix on it. not in basic terms that, in case you rigidity the motor vehicle around with a leaking exhaust equipment, it could, or in all threat will, placed you to sleep completely!

Maybe one of your belts has loosened up. Take it to your dealer. It is probably a warranty repair item.

Take it back to the dealership and tell them. It should be under warranty, and they should fix whatever is wrong for free.
