I'm two weeks late with my period I took a test yesterday it was an (asda) wallmart one. It came back negative but I've been having some symptons of pregnancy.
I have had stomach cramps, constipation, aching breasts and a slight feeling of nausea but have not been sick.
Is it possible for the test to be wrong and for me to be pregnant.
Me and my husband are trying to concieve but I'm not stressing about it.

It's possible your test results are a "false negative." You need to wait a few days and retest. Usually "false negatives" appear b/c the test was taken before the egg had a chance to implant and therefore the hormone HCG isn't in high-enough levels to be dected in the urine. However, some women (a very small percentage) never get high enough levels of HCG in their urine to yeild a postive test.
As far as your comment about stress: Stress after ovulation doesn't affect you having a late period-- if you were stressed earlier in the month, that will postpone your ovulation date causing your period to be late. Once you ovulate, your period should come w/in 12-16 days.
If you are trying to get pregnant, I recommend a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" It's by Toni Weschler and this way you can chart your cycle. You'll know the exact day you ovulate and when you should start your period. In addition, after child birth you can use the same information (waking temperature, cervical fluid, and cervical position) as a natural birthcontrol.

Pregnancy tests are usually around 99% accurate so it is possible for a false negative result to be displayed - a false negative result is far more likely than a false positive (according to my doctor). Have another test, don't the asda tests come in a twin pack so you should already have a second test. If not, go to your doctor.

The symptoms you're showing could be pregnancy OR they could be premenstrual symptoms (I get stomach cramps, nauseous and aching breasts when my period is due).

Have another test done and good luck, I hope that you get the result that you want.

I had a similar situation was 2 weeks late when finally came up positive with first response one of the best! But the day of my check at 6 weeks i found out why i was having an ectopic so see a docter that way they can blood test you to find out for sure and if you are check everything is good early.you may just be late because pregnancy and menses symptoms are the same. Also if you have pregnancy on your mind enough to ask on here id say your stressing a bit so that can cause you to be late and get all these symptoms i have before and i even seen the line on my test the doc didnt it was me worrying i was!!!

Yes its very possible you could be pregnant, especially with all the facts you list above. Try another brand of test. Try one of the more sensitive brands that can detect 4 days in advance, maybe it will be more accurate. If it still is neg go to your doc who can carry out a blood test which is very sensitive at testing for pregnancy. Some women continue to give negative tests & find they ARE pregnant, they just arent producing enough of the pregnancy hormone in their body to show. Good luck!

If you were pregnant, a pregnancy test would be positive by now. Those tests are actually extremely accurate. The only way false negatives occur is when the test is taken too early and this wouldn't be the case for you. Hey, there's always next month...keep trying!

It is possible for the test to have not detected enough of the hormone that indicates your pregnancy in your system. Leave it a couple of days and take it again with another brand. If it still comes back negative you are not pregnant.

Two weeks late could be that your HCG isnt high enough to register is your body hotter than normal ?
other than that an hormonal inbalance can make all those symptoms as your body is stuck waiting for your period to come and it hasn't wait another week and try the test early i the morning
good luck.

Yes you can get a false negative (not a false positive) because it detects a hormone released by the baby...and that can be low. Take your preg test with the first pee of the morning because that hormone will be the most concentrated then. Old wives tale says a low preg hormone means a boy.

Yes, it is much more likely to get a "false" negative pregnancy test. It is near impossible to get a positive. I would recommend waiting another few days and then taking another one. If that one is negative, make an appointment with your doctor for a blood test and consultation. Good luck!
