Someone said 18 was the legal age and that is incorrect. You can take a certification class that will allow you to babysit much earlier.

I am 13 years old and I have been babysitting since I was about 11 and I have a bunch of people call me. so i would say you were OK.

you know, I really don't think "legal" matters should coincide with babysitting. in my book, 13 is plently old. Heck, in my book, 11 is plenty old. Go for it. If you want to babysit, babysit. The law can't stop you.

it depends on the state laws, your best bet is to call child protective services and find out the laws of your state. Some states require that you have had first aid and CPR classes. Some states have laws in city limits while laws in the rural areas are different. The CPS will be able to answer your question.

NO!!!!!!! I am also 13.. i babysit ever since i was 11 .. the first thing you have to know is to be responsable .. if anythign happens dont be afraid to say what it was .. i have twin cousins and i had to babysitt both of them .. all i can say is 4 you to be responsable

Yes you are! But why do you want to? For money? 16 is the legal age if the kids are your siblings it's 12.

give or take. try to learn cpr. i started babysitting when i was 14 and have been doing it off and on as a career for 20 years. it can be alot of fun and a lot of responsibility.

i dont think so , i took a babysitting/first aid class at a local hospital when i was around 12 or 13
