You know you ask a great question that has many answers really. Picking who will win the east is like picking who will have the worst record in the east. Either way there's 5 teams that would claim either. I do not think the Heat can. I think with Jamison out the Wiz can't. Pacers no, Nets no. Cavs no. so that leaves Bulls or Pistons. I think the Bulls can win the east this year. Gordan has got to keep doing what he's doing. I'm not sure if getting Gasol would hurt them or help them at this point, you know how it is for teams to bring in a 20 and 9 player and sometimes the team struggles till they get use to playing together. I guess it would help as long as they dont give up too much for him

It depends on who's the hottest going into April. Also, a matter of matchups. I like the Pistons right now, but they can't finish games, nor can they beat the Wizards. The Wizards can score, but they can't stop traffic, much less any team. The Heat are somehow staying afloat, but they're getting up in age, and low on hunger (with the exception of D - Wade). The Bulls are solid, but they can't hold leads. I don't know what the hell's going on with the LeBrons, whoever wins the Titanic Division will probably not even be at .500. The Magic just flat - out are not ready!! I can't see anyone making any major deals to shift the power! I'll take Detroit ... my home squad !!

The Bulls have the talent, especially if they end up trading for Gasol like the rumors suggest. The Pistons are probably the frontrunner right now though.
The Heat can only win it if they get back on track, they aren't having even remotely the same season as they did last year.
Personally I wil be chearing for Gilbert and the Wizards though, Arenes is my MVP here at the halfway point, and between him Jamison and Butler they are putting on quite the run with a team that wasn't expected to be this good.

I think that the Bulls can win the Eastern Conference because the eastern conference is pretty weak. However, i think that they may have a tough time against Washington and Cleveland, but I still think the Bulls can pull it out! Go Bulls!

I think that the wizards are the best team in the east this year. They have one of the top 5 players in the whole NBA in gilbert Arenas. They have other role players that can step up and make a difference in the game. THey are just playing better basketball than any other eastern conference team.

jamison will be back in about a month and the wizards will be tough to beat. hinrich's shooting touch is not very consistent and big ben hasn't been the answer in the middle they need. if the bulls land gasol, then i think they very likely will win the east. if not...detroit or washington also have a legit shot.

Even though they got to a slow start, Pacers with their 8-team trade that will improve them dramatically. O'Neal will be better and Pacers can match-up to about any team.
